Low-Income Seat Program
The Vermont Low-Income Car Seat, Program, has several options.
- WIC Voucher, The Child Passenger Safety Program provides education and instruction to WIC Recipients on child safety seat use and installation at Car Seat Assistance Centers and hospitals statewide. The program allows for distribution of FREE car seats and booster seats to WIC recipients after completing their child passenger safety seat inspection appointment. Please note, having a WIC voucher does not mean you will automatically receive a FREE car seat or booster. The Child Passenger Safety Technician will determine if your child is in need of a low-income program seat.
- Other low-income Vermonters, not receiving WIC, may also be eligible. Families receiving Reach-Up assistance and those children qualifying for Dr. Dynasaur may also be eligible, if in need. The Child Passenger Safety Technician at your local Car Seat Assistance Center will determine if you qualify and are in need. All participants will receive education and instruction on child safety seat use and installation at their car seat inspection appointment before any car seat or booster is provided.
If you think you are eligible for the low-income program please make an appointment at your nearest Car Seat Assistance Center and meet with a Nationally Certified, Child Passenger Safety Technician.
